Senior Social Recreation

Inspire-NJ hosts an over 60yr social recreation program established to encourage community socialization and reduce isolation. Our weekly activities are designed to spark new interests, provide safety and nutrition education and enhance abilities and skills while individuals foster their health and social well-being.

Participants are also screened for other possible community-based assistance programs that can sufficiently improve on day-to-day living. Prospective seniors maybe eligible for aging in place programs geared to provide support and home modifications, such as, installation of smart home devices, medical alert systems, ramps, grab handles, assistive seating and shower modifications.

At each registered event participants will be freshly prepared nutritional meal and have the opportunity to take home locally grown produce and products to address any food insecurities.

Our event calendar is packed with exciting activities like bingo, giant community crossword and name that tune. Plus, we offer much needed educational events like how to safely fall down and get back up, understanding nutrition labels and proper food storage. This service is provided by the Ocean County Board of Commissioners in conjunction with Ocean County office of Senior Services and Community medical Center Community Outreach.
